Pleasant Grove residents on 500 North between 500 and 600 East have been ordered to shelter in place due to reports of a man with a gun. Traffic has also been shut down in the area.

The city tweeted that there is “heavy police presence” in the area.
Capt. Britt Smith told The Salt Lake Tribune that the man exited a residence, fired multiple rounds from a rifle, pointed it at bystanders and then barricaded himself back inside the residence. Smith said no one was hurt when the man fired his rifle. He said police have the area contained. He didn’t have a timeframe for how long the negotiations with the man will take.
